creature in East Slavic mythology; similar
but not equated to a griffin.
Eydis: ...a simargle? but they aren’t real...
Often creatures of various mythologies are
associated with, even if, wrongly so,
with elements of Witchcraft.
Eydis: hmm...
Infused with mystery, fear, unbelievable and grim facts and records,
Witchcraft History can be traced back centuries. The word ‘Witchcraft’
has been derived from the word ‘Wicca’ which means ‘the wise one.’
Witchcraft has been seen as a magical phenomenon, a pagan worship
or religion, and sorcery, at different periods in History.
Eydis: Maybe
Sorcery, Use of supernatural power over
others through the assistance of spirits
and the elements of the earth; Ability to
cast magick spells has not been
scientifically proven
nor has the actual
existance of magic been seen.
Eydis: ...right. This can't be the explanation for all this shit... can it? ...what the fuck?

Just an FYI, Wicca is actually a fairly modern religionword, popularized by a few British fellows. Some clam roots as far back as the early 1900s, but it is in no way an ancient religion or lend any etymology to the word witch.
That’s interesting, I wasn’t aware of that. I’m not saying the Wicca Religion has been around for centuries, what I mean by that is that Witchcraft has been seen in the FORM of unexplained phenomenons, pagan religions, and as sorcery over the course of history overall. This comic has nothing to do with Wiccanism, just witchcraft and sorcery. I got most of that text from here: Witchcraft.com.au. I personally don’t know an extensive amount about these things and often look to other sources for my information…and unfortunately with the topic of Witches there isn’t a factual book i can get resources from. When i first started writing this comic I picked up various wiccan, witch, pagan and religious books each of which had different information, they all pretty much had their own way of saying how things work and what is involved. At some point I decided to just take elements from my sources and create my own “Anhedonia Blue Universe” so not everything in this comic will be 100% factual; this story is MY version of the world of Magick and Witchcraft.

Heh. Don’t sweat it – most of us sort of take bits and pieces from various traditions and make it up as we go along, so there is no problem with you creating your own form for your universe. Only the really persnickety will get on your case about it, and we don’t pay any attention to those sorts 
haha, ok well I’m glad I’m following the norm when it comes to the Pagans and their definitions of witchcraft; part of the reason I wanted to write this story is because a lot of peoples versions bore the hell out of me. So I was figured it was time for me to create my own version of the way magic and witchcraft and all that works.. so that I will like it. :]

LOL You are pretty adamant on getting him named bob aren’t you?
I think the term you meant to use meaning “wise one” was “Wicce,” which is the base term for both witch and wicca, if I’m remembering correctly. I got a kick out of the book title on the bookshelf “Dummies’ Satan” Got a laugh out of me – there are “for Dummies” books for everything else, why not Satan worship? Hehehe.
I think the Smargl is adorable – where can one go about procuring one for oneself?
Wicce? Hmm, I never once stumbled across that spelling in my research …but when I googled it and look around a bit i found it rather easily; it seems you are correct. I’ll change that a little later when I’m not working to put together the book for chapter one.
You gotta battle a Smargl to acquire one, once it’s weak you can capture it and it will gain your respect and allow you to keep it as a pet… they are pretty easy to weaken, the tough part is finding one.
Love what you did with this strip and all the little creatures that formed in along with the reading bubble. Love how this is all playing out so far, and looking forward to the confrontation.

I’m excited that you like it, this story is gonna take quite some time to tell, i hope i can keep ur interest. :] The priestess is one of my favorite characters I’ve designed to date.. other than Cadence (from LAWLS) that is.
The layout blends very nice with the design of the website.
