You might be thinking to your self “Why is this chick such a downer?” Well, let me explain to you the first of things that important to this story line: Eydis Nastasia, age 23, suffers from a depressive disorder and has the symptoms of which are classified by the Diagnostic Statistical Manual [DSM IV] as Anhedonia [(Greek αν- an-, without + ηδονή hēdonē, pleasure) is an inability to experience pleasure from normally pleasurable life events such as eating, exercise, and social or sexual interaction.]; hence the title “Anhedonia Blue.” I tell you this now instead of later because I think its rather crucial in understanding our hero from a more personal aspect. She sees the world jaded because of her lack of having the ability to feel basic pleasure from being around other people, but here’s the real question (the part I’ll leave to you to figure out), why does she feel so disconnected? Obviously a psychiatrist at some point, in his own understanding of her, felt that she’s far gone enough from other people that medication would be the only way to help her understand what she is feeling, because he couldn’t root in in anything but chemical disorder. But, as any good psychologist would know… there are many factors in why people feel what they feel: environment situations, upbringing, physical health, spiritual health, etc. So now we observe and start understand Eydis as she starts her day and the story that is now truly unfolding.
If you haven’t wandered over to the about page at any time yet, you may want to start, as new characters show up or other random/important facts start appearing I will be updating the about page accordingly. Also, all your votes have been a great assistance so far in spreading the word so keep them coming! I’m gonna try to change the vote incentive once a week (at least)! The latest vote incentive was posted 11-07 : “What Eydis thinks of her bra!”

yay!
i need family friendly joenis, FAMILY FRIENDLY, pfft!
Pft, go read Oglaf.
Haha, fine, I will go read Oglaf, I’m sure its of “The Family Circus” and “Archie” quality
I Don’t have a clue what “The Family Circus” or “Archie” are, but they sound down right perverted.
Family Circus is kind of like p-p-p-pepp-peppermint- (dun dun dunnn!)
is this inspired by when you moved to Seattle? sorta seems like it with the weather comment
I started writing the basic script and developing Eydis’ character when i finished college at Santa Cruz, it wasn’t until I moved to Seattle that i really started diving into the meet of the story writing / plot… THOUGH I had already decided the setting, who the main characters were and the basic direction of the comic.
Looks great. I like your use of textures and lighting. Really sells it.
Thank you sir, that’s a constant work in progress for me but I’m happy I’m pulling it off so far. :]
Looking really good, love your art style, great use of colour too
Thanks! I’ve been working hard to come up with a good color scheme for the comic & website. Glad it’s working for you so far, and thanks for the compliments!
Ooooooh i love watching chicks get dressed, especially when they dont know im watching them ….. and she has NO CLUE!! muhahaha!!!
nice work duder
I like it the other way around (oops did I just say that!)
Wait…Are you saying that you love undressing girls.. or that you love when they watch YOU undress unaware that they are watching?

But that’s it for a while. Do you know how hard I work to make these things? (Not very. But then again I’m lazy)
wow… i look creepy.
Sorry, I cant help that, its just the way God made ye
Um, I hate to correct you, but I do see one little error in the above description- anhedonia isn’t a psychological disorder. In the DSM- IV it’s listed as a symptom of the mood disorders “Depression” and “Major Depressive Episodes”, as well as being a symptom for a few other disorders (such as Schizophrenia and Schizoid Personality Disorder).
Just thought you might not mind some constructive corrections coming from a psychology student (I’m currently taking a class on this, and have a copy of a DSM reference guide sitting in front of me ^_^)
Love the art, by the way. Very pretty.
You know what? You are totally right… See I wasn’t really sure what Anhedonia was classified as, in fact its rather difficult to even find out more about it from the DSM-IV itself. Which, that in itself should have been an indicator to me that it’s not a disorder of its own. I actually learned about Anhedonia AFTER I was out of college, I never had a teacher even bring it up, so my knowledge of it is all self learned… Reflecting on that it it’s self, I should have realized that sooner.
Either way, luckily, my misconstruction isn’t going to damage any part of the story.. she is having the anhedonic symptoms as a reaction to the future plot line.
Thank you for the constructive comment, I actually really appreciate it. I whipped out my DSM-IV and will make sure to read it more closely when I make my attempt to explain things. (There’s a reason I moving my career towards Art rather than Psychology these days ^_~)
I’m looking forward to the next update Joenis, I want to see this “ambitious endeavor” I heard about
I like the art in this comic.
I think I’m going to like the story too,
I’m looking forward to reading the rest of it.
Besides that, and this might sound weird, I also like Eydis’ personality, especially what she says about her clothes.
Seems like I like a lot about this comic.
That’s good to hear! In the initial script writing I worried from time to time that her character would be to unrealistic to people… but I went forward with the way I wrote her anyway because I personally understand where she’s coming from; she shares personal traits with myself and people I know. So I assure you, in a way shes real.
I’ll do my best to keep the story interesting! :]
Some days my mind frame is a lot like hers, especially with the fall weather changing to more overcast rainy, dark and dreary days.
Really? Those types of days are the ones I’m looking forward to, I’m not a huge fan of bright-sunny-warm days.
