Well I can answer a part of that question, but not the whole thing cos it will give away too much.

She is bleeding, to what extent and how it happened, you'll have to wait to see. As for her destiny, as the story unfolds answers to what her destiny actually is will start to reveal themselves as different plot elements come about and through different characters who she encounters. Don't worry, you'll start to see soon enough. :]

Thanks for the comment, I hope the story doesn't get too confusing.

I'm trying to work out what's going on here. Is Eydis bleeding? If so:

What caused the bleeding and, given how much blood seems to be flowing, does she have to die to fulfil her destiny?

lol, you and your trying to name my characters. She has a name already, you'll find it out soon enough. :P Some of what she has is actually paint, do you remember Queen Amidala in Star Wars? The way i see it is something like that, but she does have a ton of Tattoos, which you will see more and more of as the story unravels. :P

We'll I'm glad the changes have been positive ones.

Do you read more comic books or web comics?

The backgrounds are typically made with photographs i take or I find on the internet at free texture sites. I then over lay them over one another play with color balances and opacities until I feel I have something unique and nice enough to use. I generally sit and make a few different one then re use them over and over in the comic, for instance, the texture on the back of the website is one of two textures I use to texture Eydis' necklace and magic, when needed. Often i will overlay a few different of the textures I've created to make it extremely unique. Admittedly though, I've borrowed textures from Scott Ferguson of Nerf This and Ali Showkati of SSWestern from time to time though. Which, as we are all friends, often happens cos we are always trying to help one another out to get better web-comicking overall. :] The web-comic community is a good community to be in as far as friendly helpers go.

The shading with pencil is indeed what I mean when I say you used to rely more on lines for depth. You can clearly see the difference in your technique when you compare the new pages with the first. But the overall evolution is certainly positive!

I do read a lot of comics (too much actually), I especially like the "magical themed" ones, like yours. Back when I had time to spare, I used to read a lot too, also fiction (fantasy). So if I'm indeed often close, like you said, I guess I have a certain "feeling" for the theme.

Something I'm already wondering about for a while and struck me again when I visited your new project L.A.W.L.S. is how you create the backgrounds for your websites, wallpapers, etc. They look really nice. Do you use pictures or drawings and add filters and brush strokes or something like that?

The interesting thing is, I felt really restricted by drawing these with pencil, as the strip first started. The reason being that once you put a line down, even if i could erase, their was a permanence to that line. Now that I'm drawing with a tablet I've been able to lay down far more expressive lines, which is great! The down side though is that I've lost some of the "Grit" from the first few strips.. I used to add a ton of shading with the pencil before even scanning and getting to the cell shading process. At first I was bummed about that.. but as I've gotten better at cell shading I feel like it's starting to look and feel a bit more on the professional side and THAT i enjoy a lot.

I felt if I waited any longer to show her face that you guys may feel cheated.. Also, I felt ready to reveal her a bit more, but not fully... yet.

You pose a lot of good, theories, often you aren't really far from things at all, It makes me wonder.. do you read a lot of comics or read a lot in general? If so I'd be curious to know what you read that may be guiding you into your revelations about this strip. I'm not quite ready to reveal just yet what is happening, but keep theorizing as the story unfolds, you've got a good feel for what's happening. Next week may answer a few of those questions! :]
