Ok, so the official pre-order is now up at Artistic Doom, my portfolio site! If you want free shipping, and free stuff, chip in now while the offer is still available:
why so serious?…. ok had to say it, lol well, i guess a human mind having that much power released upon it, would make anyone go temp insane, stark raving mad… or REALLY want a Twinkie. im gonna say one of the first 2 anyhow. i do like how the last pan, i’m gonna guess, is her blacking out? or mishaps the Left over magic clinging to the walls?. but the art is god as always, and the first pan. well she has a whole Shang Tsung “Your Soul is mine! look hehe Thumbs up yo
You’re always on the Up and Up, Sir. :] After exerting the amount of energy she just did, for the first time ever, her body sort of gave out and therefore fainted. In reference to the last panel, the black residue is actually just Cell-styling, it’s nothing to do with the magic itself.. I’m just implying that something dark, has/is happening to her.
Also, your reference to “Shang Tsung” Made me laugh, I didn’t realize that until you pointed it out, but you are correct. :]
Btw, when posting a reply to someone else’s comment, I’ve noticed you’ve just been commenting in the box below. Can you try to click the “reply” button next to the persons name of which you are replying? I’ve been manually moving them into threads for you so that the person will receive the email telling them you commented.
I appreciate your comments, I enjoy actually having discussions w/ you and others after each post. :] Thanks.
No Problem man. most the time, when i post. i am just getting up, or am very tire, unlike now. but thanks for moving them for me, i will do so with the Reply from now on.
and i think, i said so before hand, i do like it when the artist interacts with their reader’s it give’s a sense of input, from us the reader’s and i, think that in and of itself, make’s the comic alot more Enjoyable for the reader’s along with the artist. or some random stuff like that… ooo Twinkie!
No, I don’t think you had said that, but I’m glad my comments are informative and useful. As an artist it’s difficult sometime to know if your readers are enjoying, understanding, and overall pleased with your work. Comments seem to fill that gap quite nicely. Makes me know there is a point in what I am doing. I try to reply as often as i can both to correctly relay information as well as get feed back and to make sure I’m doing things correctly. Also, It’s bummed me out in the past personally when i try to reach out to an artist to inform them I like what they do, and they don’t reply; I feel ignored. I hate that feeling, and want my readers to know that i DEEPLY appreciate feed back and responses. Plus, it’s nice to make friends to shoot the shit with along the ride. :]
As you said to me, your on the up and up sir. you get what i ment. and yes, 90% of the web comic artist, least the one’s i have seen. are so far along in their comic’s they don’t care, or don’t want to know what there reader’s think. and i’m glad i ran across you when i did, i’m not saying you are or will become as said artist. but getting to BS and lol with someone at the start more or less, is a good way of knowing them.
who knows i or anyone else here may even say something off the wall. and give’s you an idea, most likely not me. but you never know.
i do have a web comic friend, and im not going to link to them, as that wouldn’t be cool for 2 reasons here. 1 it’s your comic and space. i’m not here to give others hit’s and maybe take away from you, and 2 that would be rude, going into someone Else’s house, and talking about someone Else’s House.
but as i said i do have a friend who dose a comic online. and he got all high and mighty, and well let’s say They do not do Their comic anymore, for said reason.
again i say, im not saying you are/will become as such. but the way you talk to your fans. make’s me happy, to know that some people do care what others think. and would gladly take bad comment’s as well as good, and not become all bawwww butthurt about it..
Well, Here’s the issue and trust me, I’ve thought about this to pretty in depth extent, at a certain point it does get hard to communicate with thoughtful answers to everyone. Right now, I’m able to talk to you to great extent because you aren’t 1 of over 1,000 people trying to get me to respond to them today. It’s tough when your trying to reply to all your fans AND get work done! So, I do understand where they are coming from, but I’ve pledged to myself whatever happens with my comics, if i reach notoriety or not, I will TRY my best to always show my fans an appreciation for their presence. I know some comic artists (even some of my friends i talk to regularly) just decide to not have comments period, not because they don’t want to talk to their fans, but simple because they don’t have the time to reply to everyone and don’t want to leave people out.
Feel free to share links of other comics and what not, I don’t mind, the beauty of the webcomic community is how open it is, and they only way we get noticed is by getting found through other webcomics artists who are already establish. That being said, if someone is able to find your friends comic via a comment at my site, and they like it, more power to them, you, and your friend. :]
I’ve had my share of bad comments on one of my older comics i did some time ago, I left them, took it as they were and went on with my day. There will always be people who want to take you down, but even in that case, i appreciated that they took the time to even say something at all. I have no problem publicly dismissing such comments and/or admitting to whatever flaw they would like to rudely point out. They have their opinions and so do you and I. So whatever. :]
Aye my friend, you get the whole point i was making. and yes, after some time. if you have a thousand + people leaving comment’s. you tend to only speak to the select few. who don’t leave the “OMG awsem comic” “dude that waz gr8t” and the like. i so understand that. and as i said tho. my friend no longer make’s the comic. and has in fact removed it from the web. so no point in linking to a dead site yes, no?
but anyhow. you keep being you, and keep up the awesome, and if i typo so be it. it happens even to us Demigods lol… now where’s my Faygo and cream-cheese muffin?!
I really like the way you did the magic effects on these last panels. They’re very … you know, … magical. Can’t think of the right word right now, but I mean it’s clear what you want to show with it.
On a side note, I completely agree with the things you and Lazerith said about artists and comments. We as readers also appreciate the respons from the artists. It shows that (s)he cares about our comments and it encourages us to speak our mind in the future.
You sir actually deserve a medal for your interaction with your readers. You’re almost the most responding artist I know, though Dan Long (of Eqcomics, the comic that led me here) is also a competitor.
The openness of the webcomic community can sometimes be a pain though, as discovering a new great webcomic every evening via the ones I read regularly isn’t very good for my sleep.
Sorry for the double post, but I also wanted to tell you the floating necklace when she casts the magic is a really nice detail. The sequence of the first two panels has worked out well too, imo, as the intensity of the magic clearly drops.
Well thank you very much! I try my best to keep you guys engaged, it can be a tough endevor from time to time, especially as I’m taking on more and more projects. Such as my new comic L.A.W.L.S., as well as a bunch of web design gigs, but I try to spend at minimum a few minutes a day to get back to you guys. Down the line I may open a forum up so that you guys (the readers) can also interact with one another cos I’m pretty sure I’m not the only person who has something to say about things, so an open forum may be a nice place for more people to get involved. We’ll see though.
Next time I talk to Dan, I’ll have to personally thank him for leading a few new readers my way. It’s always nice to find out where you guys are coming from as well. It’s great to hear its from a good friend like Dan! :]
Glad you liked the the things I tried out with this magic for this page as well.
This looks way cool. Who’s laughing?! Is the Joker in this???

I’ve done it.
I’m in love with the first panel. Fantastic page!
Thanks man, I was rather pleased with the result of that panel as well! :]
You’ve come a long way so far with the site, and this strip is just..wow. Really looking forward to how this all plays out.
