In preparation of the release of my first comic book, i felt that I should revise the art in the first chapter. In the Seven Months since i started this comic my artistic style has jumped leaps and bounds. Since I started Chapter 2 I tried out several new techniques that I had been testing out but had implement in Ablue. I didn’t want to put them randomly into the first chapter because i felt it would make the comic to inconstant if i was suddenly adding textures and different styles of line work to the pages. As I was looking thru my archive I just felt unhappy with a lot of the beginning pages; too many character inconstancy, bad muddy looking shading, and various other things. So I’ve spent the last week cleaning up pages. So far ive gotten about 15 of them updated and online, with the first few pages left to still get done. So this week, i figured as I’m spending the time updating the last few, you guys may want to jump back and appreciate this weeks hours of work that I’ve put in so far, and hope that you understand that I just didn’t have time or energy to get to a new page. WIth that though, I PROMISE I’ll be back next week with an all new page!
Don’t forget to pre-order your copy of the first book! :]

You should redo the one with the panties.
But, like, delete the panties!

ummm, why does she look all happy in the one pic. isn’t she supposed to be dazed or like, out of it? it just looks like the revised one is completely a different expression from the first.
If your referring to Eydis’ face, honestly back when i drew those I don’t know if I was even getting close to drawing the expressions as anything recognizable.. that and I think they are just too blobby before don’t you think? She was supposed to be smiling at the barista just as a casual thing most people do.. but then she felt a little creeped out by his overly happy smile back to her… at least i THINK that’s what I was getting at. lol
If I recall your 5am ramblings, yes it was
Very nice of you to go back and update your previous work as you improve more and more, your one of the first web comic artist I have seen do so. I am amazed by your work each time I visit here. Keep up your great work.
I had several talks with other webcomic artist at great depth about doing this. Most of them told me not to waste my time; only a few agreed with me. The reason i went through with it is because it urked me every time i would look back at it, also I’ve seen books of other artists who DON’T take the time to go back, and i feel like the readers (including me at that moment) were getting cheated on a comprehensive book… if that make sense? Over all I’m happy I did it.. but it’s been a grueling week and I can’t wait to have it done. I will wont be doing this again, at least NOT to this extent, so it will be nice to have it over with.
Thanks for the compliment. :]
Yeah, it seems like it was a lot of work, but it was also totally worth it – the new artwork is really nice. I know what you mean about other artists – of course, it is fun to go back and look at the older art and go “WOW … look at how much they have improved!!!” This is especially telling when you have been following them all along and the changes are done gradually – you don’t really notice on a day-to-day comic, but over time improvements are steadily made. Then you go back and compare the current art to the first art and it’s really amazing. And I’m rambling, which means I’m sleepy, and that isn’t good – but I’ve finished, so that IS good, but the little thunderstorm just ended, which is bad because they are nice to sleep to and they keep the neighbors’ screaming children inside … for some reason they feel the need to play on OUR side of the duplex, specifically as close as possible to my bedroom window, and play tends to involve a lot of screaming … why do children scream all the time when they play?? *sigh*
It really was a lot of work. I beat as hell now that I’m done working on it. I JUST approved the proof for the book’s printing and the printers will be printing it soon.. so it was worth it. :] With LAWLS you’re gonna see a gradual growth, for that comic I wont be doing a major artistic overhaul with it. I made the choice to do so with ABlue merely because when i started it I was just getting used to my Wacom Tablet; it’s not that i got better at drawing since I started ABlue (well some of it is), it’s the fact that I got better and doing Tablet based artwork.
If you know witchcraft.. you should use some sort of SHUT THE HELL UP spell on them. :3
