Tonight’s the Night! And so marks the beginning of our journey, an idea that has been running through my mind for about two years, that has finally come to it’s moment of birth! Let me tell ya, it has been one hell of a two year pregnancy! I know, I know, you may be saying to yourself “after all this time that you’ve been making everyone wait, this is how you’re gonna start us off, with another teaser?” Well, sorta… Let me lay out the format right up front for you guys before we start.
This is the cover page of the first book “Serendipity,” it is one of three (or four) books, each will have its own over arching theme and set of chapters, so occasionally there will pages like this to let you know where we are. I promise you though, I’m trying to make the pacing of this story fairly fast and interesting. I’m still writing the middle/end of the story, but for the most part I know exactly what is going to happen. The possibility of their being a fourth book will all depend on if i feel the section I’ve been brainstorming is crucial or not AND the popularity of this comic overall. With that, I’d like to ask any and all of you who will be taking this journey with me to vote for my comic every week (if not several times a week) at Top Webcomics to help me spread the word! :] You can do so by clicking the vote button on the sidebar, by clicking the vote button in the menu bar at the top of the site or by just clicking this button below. Wow, man, looks really good. I’m pretty excited to have a graphic novel I can read. Looks like you definitely learned from my missteps with SSW. It’s been a long time coming, but it seems to we worth the wait.

I’m glad you noticed the colors, I’ve been spending a lot of time coming up with a strong aesthetic for the whole thing. Color’s been the most challenging yet rewarding part of working on ABlue so far. So Thanks for noticing!

Meh, I don’t know. It’s not a huge deal. It was just me trying to avoid having to draw the rest of the city in the background since it’s so finely detailed. That over hang took me enough time as it was. :]
Okay I’m going to be a butt here..
I like the background picture.. pretty neat the way it blends in.
but the girl.. her boobs are too big and her torso is too long.. if you made her head bigger it would look more anatomically correct, or make the rest of her body slightly smaller.. imo.
besides that, it looks good
Thanks for the critique. I realized a few of those things that you pointed out once I was done drawing and coloring it, but eventually came to the conclusion that since its technically a “cartoon,” often characters will have elongated features to accentuate them. Anime for instance always makes the women’s torso to short, boobs too big, and legs to long. So I figured I was still in the green with this drawing. The pages that follow actually make the my characters look a bit more like what you see in the header. Also, I wasn’t used to drawing on such a large piece of paper. This page is actually the absolute first time i ever drew on a few 11×17 piece of Bristol board.
Either way I appreciate your comment and will keep those things in consideration as my art work develops. Thanks.

It tis a photo, but don’t get used to photos in this comic. It was sorta for the over elaborate splash page type thing because it was taking so long to draw i think those little details in the back would have killed me.
